Dear journalists and media people, Ohmatdyt is kindly asking you to share the stories of the children who have suffered from the war. Some of them turned out to be receiving treatment in our hospital, where the specialists are fighting for their health and even life in a courageous way. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to help everyone. We collected 8 stories, which broke our hearts in this post. We are kindly asking you to share them and use the photos and videos for the whole world to see the crimes of Russia against the children in Ukraine.
The very first victim who has been brought to Ohmatdyt is a boy, whose name has been unknown to us – our “Victim №1”. The boy was wounded severely in his neck. His father and sister were shut by Russian soldiers. His name turned out to be Semen. In 5 days the boy died in the intensive care.

13-year-old Vova got into the fire attack in Kyiv, when the whole family was trying to evacuate. The boy’s father and 6-year-old brother died on the spot. Vova got a gunshot wound of his right half of the face, also there were the bullets found in his back. Vova’s life was saved by Ohmatdyt doctors.

6-year-old Milana who witnessed her mother death, when russian missile got straight into their house close to Gostomel. The pieces of the missile damaged her lower extremities, there were several operations performed in Ohmatdyt. The girl was writing constantly the letters to “her Mum in the sky”.

Little Varya from Irpin and her mom came under mortar fire while trying to flee the city. The Russian military shot at the cars of civilians. Varya and her mom received severe shrapnel wounds to their legs.

4-year-old boy was severely injured to his back when the shell exploded near his house. The boy was returning home with his father when Russian soldiers opened fire at one of Kyiv’s neighborhoods. The father and the son received severe shrapnel wounds.

A mother shielded her one-month-old daughter from shrapnel, saving the child’s life. The entire family was injured in a rocket attack on one of Kyiv’s districts. The mother was feeding her daughter right at the moment of the attack, so she covered the baby with her body to save her.

14-year-old Yura from Bucha witnessed how the Russian soldier shot his father dead. Yura and his father rode bicycles to get some food and medicine when they were stopped and attacked. The boy was wounded in the arm. The soldier also shot Yura in the hood – but the bullet missed the boy’s head. The father was shot in the heart and head. Yura and his family buried their father in the backyard of their house.

5-year-old Dima had his leg injured when his family tried to evacuate from Chernihiv. The Russian soldiers shelled the road that civilians took to evacuate. The first shell exploded 5 meters from Dima. The child was injured the most. His mother, father, and sister are also being treated at Ohmatdyt.
