The Russian forces have shot two journalists of the New York Times, killing one of them and injuring another. New York Times videographer Brent Reno has died on the spot, his colleague, photographer Juan Diego Arredondo, was delivered to the Okhmatdyt, the largest children’s hospital in Kyiv. The journalists were covering the evacuation of the civilians in Irpin, near Kyiv.
Arredondo, who was still conscious after arriving at the hospital, is undergoing the surgery. He was injured by shelling and has a shrapnel wound to the thigh. He does not yet know the fate of his colleague. The last thing he remembers is that his partner was shot in the neck at the Russian checkpoint.
